The GCA Local Adaptation Champions (LAC) Awards celebrate exemplary initiatives reshaping climate resilience through local leadership and community ownership. Special guests at the 2025 Awards Ceremony, which took place in Belém, Brazil during COP30, included H.E. Janja Lula da Silva, First Lady of Brazil; H.R.H. Princess Dana Firas of Jordan; Debbie Palmer, FCDO UK; and Hans Olav Ibrekk, Special Envoy at Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The 2025 LAC Champions include Preserving Legacies in the Citizen Science category; Aquafondo Peru in the Nature-based Solutions category; AJSA India in the Women's Livelihood category; and Foundation for Tomorrow Kenya in the Health category.
