Step Change: Accelerating inclusive and locally led climate adaptation

Africa 17 June 2025 Videos

An all-of-society response is needed to accelerate climate action, and local communities have a key role to play in leading adaptation efforts.

Climate adaptation is the process of adjusting to the effects of climate change, to improve the quality of life and resilience of the most climate-affected people.

The Step Change initiative accelerates equitable and inclusive locally led adaptation by fostering southern leadership and climate knowledge brokering. Step Change aims to grow the number of organizations and individuals with the skills to close knowledge-to-action gaps in gender equality and social inclusion, in enhancing access to climate finance, and improving ecosystem-based adaptation.

Step Change is a co-funded initiative between IDRC and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands. Learn more: https://bit.ly/46EmPP9
