The establishment of Kenya's County Climate Change Funds was critical to integrating climate risk into county development. Through two case studies in Kenya, this paper demonstrates key insights into mainstreaming climate change adaptation into county-level development plans. It shows that adaptation action has led to development benefits such as improving livelihoods and water access.
