Amitav Das Himun works as a District Correspondent in Gaibandha, Bangladesh for Desh TV.

As a mentee of the GCA/BBC Media Training Program, he produced a story on how communities of the 'Char' islands of Gaibandha, despite all odds, continue to support and encourage each other to adopt sustainable livelihood practices, aiming to build collective resilience against the impacts of climate change. Women farmers women are also determined to turn their luck around by adapting to different climate resilient farming methods such as growing vegetable in raised beds, and adopting alternative livelihood options such as sheep rearing.

He also reported how the fisher folks in Gaibandha are experiencing loss of income as the fish breeding and production gets hampered due to climate change.
